[♥ Where I Stand on Things ♥]
- Guns: They would be fine if people were fine. Not all people are, and just because someone qualifies for a permit doesn't make them trustworthy. Not only that, but people have been known to go off the deep end. I don't want my neighbor to go off the deep end when my children are riding their bikes down the street. People claim they choose to have a gun for protection. Well, if you live in some ghetto with a high murder rate, I can understand this, but in the typical neighborhood, this argument just doesn't hold water. Criminals typically get their guns from law-abiding citizens who keep the guns "for protection".
- Gun Control Laws: You see my point about guns... Guns should be banned. PERIOD!! And, before you start bringing up the 2nd Amendment... Let us look at it... "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what this says!!! But, yet, people try to use this Amendment of the Constitution to satisfy their own greedy needs. It DOES NOT STATE that individuals have the right to shoot targets or take the law into their own hands. I'm sick and tired of people using the Constitution of the United States to get what they WANT, instead of what they NEED. The term "the People" is referring to the population in general, not individuals. Meaning, you have the right to bear arms to secure your freedom, not your garden or beanie baby collection!!! We have police to take care of protection. So, don't EVEN try to pull that one!!! If you have a problem with your police force, do something to make it better. Do not criticize all policemen for a few idiots that may have slipped through.
- Free Speech: The first amendment of the Constitution of the United States. People think they have the right to free speech to say ANYTHING they want. This amendment was intended to allow people to speak their opinions to the United States Government (or other entities) without being shot or hung or imprisoned for speaking their mind. It gives you the right to speak! Not the right to be obscene or obnoxious!!!
- Healthcare: Current healthcare is atrocious! When your doctor is driving a BMW or Lincoln while you're scraping to find the money to pay him, there's something seriously wrong. Doctors should be in the profession to help people, not stock their $500,000 house with gold lion heads. Even the Hippocratic Oath states: "I will apply dietic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice." Injustice is the fee's that doctors ordinarily charge, or procedures that the ill person doesn't even need so the doctor can pad his pockets. It also says "Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick". Most doctors these days are ONLY in it for the money!! This is BULLSH!T!!!!!
- Barack Obama: This country is in shambles. Obama is doing what he can with what he's been given. At this time, I'm behind him 100%. He has taken the initiative to make positive changes in a country that is otherwise out of control. I claim no political affiliation, however, the Republican party has, in the past 8 years, shown that they can pick the dumbest people on the planet to represent them. Take a look at Bush and Palin. Dumb doesn't EVEN begin to describe the two of them. Republican party?? I'm telling you right now, you better wake up and start looking for intelligent people to represent the party, or the party will die in flames. Oh, I should also mention... My kids watch the news and research current issues (especially Cheyenne) for their own purposes, not for school. They KNOW what's going on in the government, and they also named one of our kitty's Obama. They make their own decisions based on facts. I wish more people were that smart.
